Pens vs Isles Game 5, May 9, 2013

"Did you ever know that you're my hero?"

Yes, Tyler Kennedy, you are our hero.  TK's sixth career playoff game-winning goal started a second period of scoring that turned a close game into another blowout and led to the Pens taking a 3-2 series lead in their first round match-up against the Islanders.

Check out more photos from the game after the jump.

Following his goal, TK skated down the ice to share the celebration with Vokoun.

Kris Letang's third period power play goal capped off the scoring for the Pens, and led to an early exit for Isles' goaltender Nabokov.

Didn't have to look at the scoreboard to know the Isles were beaten.

This makes three times in the last four playoffs that the Pens have come up big in the fifth game of the first round.  Let's hope they carry this effort forward to game six on the Island.  Knitting Lady and I will be there, taking with us our personal nine-game winning streak, which coincidentally started in game five against the Flyers last year.

Look for more photos after the game Saturday night.
