The Pens beat the Bruins 2-1 Sunday.
Crosby, Vitale and Vokoun played big parts but it took a total team effort to overcome the absence of Geno and Tanger, who went out late in the first causing the remaining five defensemen to really pick up the slack, including Paul Martin's 30+ minutes.
Check out photos from the game plus some postgame sock pics after the jump.
The Pens warmed up in green shamrock jerseys in honor of Sidney Patrick's Day.
Anthem.
Let's get it on!
Sid opened the scoring just past the midway point in the first.
Boston tied it but Vitale scored an amazing falling down goal to put the Pens back up by one.
Iceburgh was looking quite dapper in his scarf from @PensKnittngLady.
A new record hockey crowd at CEC (one fan more than yesterday).
Lucic got away with something.
"I throw my hands up in the air sometimes"
Shhhh, he's sleeping.
Actually, Krejci had taken a puck to the knee.
Looked pretty painful.
Hope he's okay.
Good job holding fort by the Pens. The Bruins had trouble even getting Rask off the ice to get the extract attacker on, and once they did, they didn't really get much going. Pens win 2-1.
2nd star of the game, Sidney Crosby.
1st star of the game, stopping 31 of 32 shots against, Tomas Vokoun.
We'll be back for one more, Tuesday night against the Caps.
Got some bonus sock pic action after the game with Bennett, Eaton and Sutter.
All current Pens are now sock holders except Glass and Geno. (edit: and CFA)
Hope to take care of Geno Monday night.
Thanks for reading.
We'll be back with more pics after the Caps game!
Great work as usual!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteGreat photos that we have come to love. I like the shot of Vokoun's helmet, since we've had trouble figuring out what's on it. And it looks like Sutter was the calmest about Lucic's extra-curricular activities - the rest of us were doing much more than sticking our tongues out! :-) Great to see you two.
