Pens vs Flames, December 12, 2014

Just as Knitting Lady and I made our long awaited return to Consol Energy Center Friday night, so too did Kris Letang, getting back into action after missing five games with a groin injury.  Tanger's first period goal would prove to be the game winner as the Pens got another solid performance from Marc-Andre Fleury on their way to a 3-1 win over the Flames.

Check out our pics from the game below.

Warm-up:

Anthem:

First Period:

Comeau's ninth goal of the season gave the Pens a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the game.

Letang's tip-in goal off a Simon Despres point shot
extended the lead to 2-0.

Assistant coach Gary Agnew was clearly happy with the Pens quick start.

Former Penguin Deryk Engelland made his first trip back to CEC since leaving in the offseason.

Flower with the poke check to turn away an early Flames opportunity.

What a great hockey face.

Second Period:

Third Period:

Rob Klinkhammer added a late insurance goal and Fleury stopped 13 Calgary shots in the third to secure the win.

Stars of the Game:

3rd Star: Rob Klinkhammer

2nd Star: Marc-Andre Fleury

1st Star: Kris Letang

Not much time to rest after this one as we were on our way to Columbus to take on the red hot Blue Jackets Saturday night.

  1. Outstanding photos as usual, especially the required Letang hair photo. Thanks, as always, for sharing.
