The Pens visited RBC Center in Raleigh. It was basically a home-away-from-home game with the crowd split pretty much 50-50 between Pens and Canes fans. As is always the case down here in the Triangle, it was a great atmosphere.
The Canes have their tricked out rig...

Just one example of the obstacles you face when trying to photograph hockey through or near three panes of glass:

Would it be Flower in net?

Or Johnson?

Word around the campfire, and by campfire I of course mean some random Pens fans' tailgate, was that Bylsma may have changed his mind at the last minute and given Fleury the nod. That is, until this happened.

Ouch. Flower made Adams look like Mario on this one.

The celebration of the Pens opening goal illustrates the number of Pittsburgh fans in attendance. Holy crap, they (we) were everywhere.

Please, tell me I'm not the only one that sees the pig in a cow suit and the guy in the giant bubble. I saw the Who and the Dead right across the street at Carter Finley Stadium back in the late 80s and I don't remember seeing anything this crazy back then.

I can't stop thinking about the number of great photos I could have had if this security guard wasn't sitting/standing in front of me the entire game. I appreciate that these guys have a job to do, but there has to be a better way.

I love when dudes try to put the hit on Sid and they just end up bouncing off like they've hit a brick wall.

I also love when Sid sets up behind the net and leads people around like they are puppets on strings.

Canes got in close on Johnson. This guy celebrated WAY too soon. Ruined what would have been a beauty shot of the save.
