Pens @ Blue Jackets, November 2, 2013

It was the second of back-to-back nights between these two teams.
Zatkoff got the start for the Pens.
For Columbus it was their backup McElhinney, who had played most of the game the night before after Bobrovsky defecated in his crease.
Probably the most excitement in this one came pregame when the security guard told us they don't allow fans to have signs larger than 8x10".  I'm guessing this was some kind of response to the Pens last visit when Pensblog Charlie signs filled Nationwide Arena.

Check out the pics after the jump.

It's not unusual for a pregame nap to be part of a player's routine, but during warm-ups?
Hey, whatever works for ya, Jeff.

We had the pleasure of sitting behind Flower, who finds interesting ways to stay entertained during the game.

We were disappointed to find out that Columbus had retired their alternate mascot, Boomer the bongpeniscannon, leaving original mascot Stinger to carry the full load.

Kunitz already had one goal and was looking for more.

It's fun getting a Sid's-eye view of the game.

Although I'm sure he wished he could have buried this one.

At some point Deryk Engelland drove one home to put the Pens up 1-0, pretty much right in front of us, but I managed to completely miss it.  So I'll just post this in place of an actual pic of the goal.

Columbus has some interesting intermission entertainment.
"Find the scantily clad girl without falling and breaking your hip"
Wasn't this part of Luke's early Jedi training back in Ep. IV?

Mark LeGretztu sets up behind the net but to no avail.
There was no breaking through against Zatass on this night.

Kuni picked up his eighth goal of the season to put the Pens up 2-0 early in the 3rd.

Zatkoff picked up his first NHL win and first NHL shutout, somehow only earning him second star of the game.

Solid couple of wins over a division foe.
Time to head home and look forward to the next trip, whenever that may be.
Thanks for joining us, and until next time

LET'S GO PENS!!!
