11/11/11 Gameday Morning Skate

Last time we were in town we hit up the morning skate for a few autographs. The players were all really nice, especially Fleury, but there were a few guys we missed. So we headed back down to the arena this morning to try to catch them and we scored big time.

Check out the photos after the jump.

We showed up with a jersey apiece that we've been collecting signatures on. Also, we had the new photobook that I had recently made.

Matt Niskanen was the first to stop. He signed our jerseys.

And our book.

Next up was Matt Cooke. He had already signed our jerseys a few weeks ago, so we took the opportunity to get a kick-ass sock photo...

And he signed his page in the book (tough to see, but it's there).

Sid came by and signed for a few people, but it was a madhouse so he had to cut things short.

Chris Kunitz rolled in and signed our jerseys...

Arron Asham was next. You guessed it, he signed the jerseys...

and the book. For a minute it looked like he was going to sign for Joe Vitale, but luckily he realized it in time and signed his own page instead.

Geno didn't have time to stop.

Ben Lovejoy was great. Cast on his broken left wrist, he still signed like a trooper. We also chatted a bit about his appearance the day before on TribLIVE Radio.

He seemed to really enjoy signing for everyone.

That all happened before the morning skate. There were still a couple of big names we were hoping to get. We would not be disappointed when the morning skate was over.

Letang was awesome. He really focuses and provides the most consistently good autograph of anyone on the team that we had encountered so far.

Sid came out right behind Letang.

He had already signed Knitting Lady's jersey last time around, so we got him to sign mine this time.

We were going to settle for the jersey, and be very happy with that, but he got caught in a bit of a traffic jam and had a little time on his hands, so I got him to sign the book.

Our jerseys are loaded now, though there's still a little space for 11 and 71 if they decide to actually stop one of these times. Not complaining, though, as this team continues to show why they are #1 in the league in fan relations.

  3. My best friend and I were there that day (We're from Niagara Falls Canada) and you and your wife introduced yourself after we met Letang and Crosby. We just ran into her again this weekend @ the Buffalo game. Great pictures!
