2009 Stanley Cup Experience

One of our most prized possessions, this is what my wife and I refer to as our "Stanley Cup Experience". Don at Crofton Fine Art & Framing Gallery here in Maryland took our design and put together this beautiful piece that now hangs in our "library".

It features a 16x20 photo of the Pens following their dramatic game 7 victory in the 2009 Stanley Cup Final. We are in the photo. Find Fleury and then go up a few rows. There we are in blue with our big Let's Go Pens sign. To the left of the photo are our game 5 tickets, below are the game 6 tickets and gold coins that were issued for the Cup Final and Pens victory, and to the right are our game 7 tickets.

We came up with the idea in part because Frameworth simply didn't have anything good enough to commemorate this incredible experience, and also because our camera was confiscated by Joe Louis Arena security on our way into game 7, robbing us of the opportunity to take what would have been amazing pictures from our vantage point right above the Penguins bench and tunnel. Once we learned that we were in the team photo, we decided to come up with something spectacular to celebrate the Pens victory and make up for not having our own pictures of Sid & Co. skating around with Lord Stanley's Cup.
